About Us

Energy for Erewash was founded by a small group of local residents who are committed to developing community energy projects to make Erewash a better place to live and work. These projects have the potential to empower our community, to give Erewash people a voice in how energy is created and used, and to help keep money in our community rather than going to investors and shareholders in other countries.

We hope in time to create a wider movement in Erewash that brings the community together, empowering it to create a more environmentally and economically sustainable future for everyone.

John Beardmore works in the sustainability and renewable energy sector as a volunteer and professionally.

Our Team

Ann Mills is a member of the Green Party and also a Councillor on Erewash Borough Council. It is my experience on the council that has convinced me that if we want real, quick and effective local change, we need to be prepared to take action ourselves! We need to lead by example and show communities and local and national government just how much can be achieved if we work together and don’t rely on ‘someone else’ to do something.

Anita Lawrence is a member of several organisations including Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, The Soil Association and Protect the Wild. As a passionate member of Mid Derbyshire Badger Group, she is involved in sett surveys, fundraising, education and the rescue and rehabilitation of injured badgers.
